Habitat for Humanity of Greater Centre County's ReStore First Anniversary Habitat for Humanity of Greater Centre County's ReStore is celebrating its first anniversary April 4th & 5th from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at their Zion Road location in Bellefonte. ReStore sells new and used donated building materials to the public at discounted prices with proceeds benefiting Habitat for Humanity of Greater Centre County. Friday & Saturday, April 4th & 5th Penn State Jazz Festival Esber Recital Hall The festival begins Friday afternoon and ends Saturday evening with a concert by the Towson University Jazz Band, Centre Dimensions, and guest artists. Saturday, April 5th Live Like You Were Dying 7:30 p.m. The State Theatre The performance will consist of a series of dance pieces that range from hip-hop to tap. Tickets are $10 with proceeds benefiting The Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition.


Dr. Joel Myers Dr. Joel Myers, long-time State College resident and founder of AccuWeather, Inc., is seeking reelection to the Penn State Board of Trustees as a representative of the alumni. Dr. Myers came to Penn State as an undergraduate and went on to earn three degrees from the university before becoming a member of the Penn State faculty from 1964-1981. AccuWeather is the nation's leading commercial weather service, providing forecasts to over 175,000 paying clients and millions of Internet users worldwide from its Global Headquarters in State College. Three of Dr. Myers' children are also Penn State graduates. Through the years, Dr. Myers has provided numerous scholarships and gifts to Penn State. Voting for the trustees begins April 10th and ends May 15th.
