2008 Blair County Arts Festival
The 2008 Blair County Arts Festival will take place May 17th &
18th on the Penn State Altoona Campus. The festival will be open from Noon-9 p.m. on Saturday
and from Noon-6 p.m. on Sunday. The event will feature a juried fine art
exhibit, a student art exhibit, a juried crafts market, and a food court. A
children's village will be set-up and feature hands-on activities, a fish pond,
sidewalk chalk drawing, face painting, and take-home art projects. Proceeds from
the event will benefit The Historic Mishler Theater. For a complete list of

Pitch, Hit, and Run Local Competition
Centre Region Parks & Recreation will host Pitch, Hit, and Run May 18th at 3 p.m. at Spring Creek Park. The competition is open to boys and girls ages 7-14. Boys and girls will compete together but will be divided into four different age groups. There is no registration fee to enter the competition, however a birth certificate is required for age verification. The event will be held rain or shine.

Saturday & Sunday, May 17th & 18th Grange Fair Wheels of Thunder & Festival Grange Fairgrounds - Centre Hall The event will feature a truck pull on Saturday, flea market, auto parts & accessories sale, and a car/truck/motorcycle show. A Celebration of Service: Honoring Pennsylvania Veterans
The annual A Celebration of Service: Honoring Pennsylvania Veterans will take place May 18th from 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. at the Pennsylvania Military Museum in Boalsburg. The Pennsylvania National Guard sponsored event will feature a military band concert, guest speaker, helicopter & military vehicle displays, and a 21-gun battery salute.
