Hotworx, a 24-hour infrared fitness studio, is planning to open its new State College area location soon, according to its Instagram.

The 2021 S. Atherton St. location in the Hills Plaza is expected to open near the end of May, pending a certificate of occupancy. Hotworx State College is between Leila’s Beauty Salon and the new Mount Nittany Health ExpressCare, which opened on Monday.

Hotworx is a national chain that provides 30-minute workouts in small, enclosed heated spaces. The gym uses infrared heat and gives its clients virtual workouts to use in the sauna space, ranging from 15-30 minutes. Workouts include isometric and HIIT work.

The gym will also include a functional work zone for clients to use in between time spent in the saunas. The space will include bands, weights, ropes and other necessary equipment.

While Hotworx will run 24 hours a day, it will be staffed from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Per its Instagram, the State College location is hiring for part-time positions.

Hotworx has more than 600 locations throughout the United States and several abroad. The State College studio will be its ninth in Pennsylvania.
