VHS Skateshop moved at the end of March from its former home at the corner of South Pugh Street and Calder Way to 244 E. Calder Way in downtown State College.

The store, which originally opened as IQ Skateshop in 2021 at 118 S. Pugh St., now sits between Way Fruit Farm Downtown Market & Cafe and the recently opened clothing and gift shop Town Pride.

VHS Skateshop owner Clint Kunselman originally operated a store in DuBois before moving to State College four years ago after hearing about the possibility of a skate park opening nearby. The skate shop offers skateboards, shoes, clothing and accessories.

“It’s more visible now,” Kunselman said. “The hope is it brings in more people… It’s been nice meeting the next-door businesses.”

The new location features a screening room in the back, where customers can watch movies, play video games and kill time while shopping. Kunselman also plans to host events at the long-planned High Point Skate Park, which State College officials have said is expected to be constructed this year.

VHS is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
