The Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts on Tuesday continued a decades-long tradition with the release of its annual free collectible poster.
The 24-inch by 36-inch poster showcases the festival’s core colors with large art deco-style lettering.
“Give the poster a close look so you do not miss the subtle nods to traditions of the Festival in the background, along with other visual references to Central Pennsylvania,” festival organizers wrote in a news release.
Saige Sommese, a 2018 graduate of Penn State’s graphic design program, designed this year’s poster based on a design by her late father, Lanny Sommese, a Penn State professor emeritus of graphic design who created the festival posters for more than 40 years. Saige Sommese collaborated with her father on the festival posters for five years before his passing last August.
The poster can be picked up at no charge at the following locations:
- Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, 403 S. Allen St., Suite 205A, State College
- Downtown State College Improvement District, 127 S. Fraser St., State College
- State College Framing Company and Gallery, 160 Rolling Ridge Drive, State College
- HUB-Robeson Center Desk, Penn State campus

The Arts Festival kicks off with Children and Youth Day on July 12 and continues July 13-16 with the Sidewalk Sale and Exhibition and a wide variety of entertainment in downtown State College and on Penn State’s University Park campus.
