The Centre Area Transportation Authority is launching a new mobile app for its on-demand microtransit service this month.
The new CATAGo app, powered by transit technology company Via, will be available for download on iOS and Android platforms beginning Dec. 8 and will replace the current TransLoc app on Dec. 13, according to a news release.
Designed to improve service efficiency, rider education and customer understanding of the CATAGo service, the new app will provide “real-time information on wait times, frequency and overall riding experience.”
“Our customers’ satisfaction is our top priority, and we are confident that the CATAGo app will provide a more efficient and enjoyable experience for everyone,” Derek Sherman, ADA and on-demand programs manager for CATA, said.
App features will include trip reservations, real-time tracking of CATAGo vehicles, estimated arrival times, route maps, service alerts and customizable notifications.
CATAGo offers shared-ride, accessible, curb-to-curb shuttle service within designated zones, with same-day trip reservations made through the mobile app or by phone at (814) 237-1821.
“We are excited to launch the new CATAGo app and look forward to providing an exceptional experience for our riders,” David Rishel, executive director and CEO of CATA, said. “This app is a testament to our commitment to providing innovative solutions that meet the needs of our community.”
