The Centre Region Council of Governments and the League of Women Voters of Centre County are hosting a happy hour event on Wednesday, Oct. 11, to discuss local environmental sustainability.

The free event will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at Boal City Brewing, 281 Old Boalsburg Road.

In the first hour, community members will discuss home solar power, electric vehicles and e-bikes and more sustainable decisions around food and food waste.

The second hour of the event will allow attendees to enjoy sustainably-sourced finger foods and purchase beverages from the brewery while talking with local nonprofits and businesses working in sustainability.

A micro-grant provided the opportunity for Centre County to participate in the League of Women Voters Pennsylvania’s Reimagine Sustainability Week.

To attend, register in advance at crcog.net/sustain.
