Downtown State College Improvement District’s monthly First Friday celebration returns this week after a winter hiatus with music, art, food, shopping and more.

This month’s First Friday will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on April 7 throughout the downtown.

New this year, DSCID is also introducing First Friday Sidewalk Sales, with merchants extending their shops onto their sidewalks during individual business hours, weather permitting. Participating businesses for April can be found here.

Live music will be performed from 5:30 to 8 p.m. each First Friday at Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza stage on South Fraser Street and will feature a variety of local musicians from April through September. Beginning in May, the First Friday Market Jam returns as well, with musicians performing from noon to 2 p.m. at the downtown Farmers Market on Locust Lane.
