Koch Funeral Home staff will honor the more than 300 individuals they served in 2021 with a luminaria display on Friday night and Saturday morning.
To remember and memorialize the deceased, on Friday afternoon staff members will place candlelit bags around funeral home’s lawn at 2401 S. Atherton St. Each bag will signify one person that Koch cared for during the year.
The public is encouraged to drive into the parking lot to witness the display, pay homage to the friends and neighbors lost, see the light of their lives that continues on in this world and send caring thoughts to their loved ones.
The display will be in place from 5 p.m. on Friday to the early morning hours on Saturday.
“It was our privilege to care for the families we served in 2021,” Koch Funeral Home Funeral director F. Glenn Fleming said. “Before we say hello to 2022, we ask you to join us in taking a few moments to remember those we lost this past year. It is our intent for our New Year’s Eve luminaria display to respectfully honor those who died and we hope people will find it a fitting memorial to their loved ones’ lives.”
