Penn State University Police and Intercollegiate Athletics are partnering for a “Cram the Cruiser” toy drive for local families in need this holiday season.
The donation event benefiting Toys for Tots will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1, with drop-off locations at the Porter North parking lot next to Medlar Field and in front of the Bryce Jordan Center ticket office.
Participants can drop off donations of new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages. Penn State student-athletes from various sports will be on hand to greet attendees.
“‘Cram the Cruiser’ goes beyond gathering donations; it unites our community to uplift those in need during the holiday season,” Wesley Sheets, chief of University Police and Public Safety, said in a news release.
For those who want to help but cannot attend the event, donations are being accepted now through 5 p.m. on Nov. 29 at Penn State police headquarters in University Support Building I on University Drive or the Athletics Administration Building at the corner of Park Avenue and Porter Road.
“This event is a wonderful opportunity for our student-athletes to engage with the community while helping to make a difference in the lives of local families,” Meighan Julbert, assistant athletic director for student-athlete development and enrichment, said in the release. “We encourage everyone to come out, meet our student-athletes, and contribute to this worthy cause.”
