Cirque du Soleil is returning to Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center in March for the first time in more than 10 years.
The modern circus will present five performances of “OVO,” a “newly revisited high-energy and high-acrobatic production,” from March 27-30, Cirque du Soleil and the Jordan Center announced on Monday.
“OVO is a colorful intrusion into a new day in the life of insects; a non-stop riot of energy and movement,” according to a news release from Cirque du Soleil. “Through show-stopping acrobatics highlighting the unique personalities and abilities of selected insect species, OVO explores the beauty of biodiversity in all its contrasts and vibrancy.”
Tickets, starting at $49, go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, through Ticketmaster.
Showtimes are:
- Thursday, March 27 at 7 p.m.
- Friday, March 28 at 7 p.m.
- Saturday, March 29 at 3 p.m.
- Saturday, March 29 at 7 p.m.
- Sunday, March 30 at 1 p.m.
“OVO is a headlong rush into a colorful ecosystem teeming with life, where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement,” according to the release. “The insects’ home is a world of biodiversity and beauty filled with noisy action and moments of quiet emotion.”
Cirque du Soleil last visited the Jordan Center in October 2014 with six performances of “Dralion.”
