Acclaimed Broadway Musical ‘Come from Away’ Headed to Penn State’s Eisenhower Auditorium

‘The Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State will host a performance of the national tour of the Broadway musical “Come from Away,” at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7 in Eisenhower Auditorium.

Tickets are $81 and $66 for an adult; $64 and $49 for those 18 and younger; and $45 and $40 per University Park student. Tickets are available for purchase online, by phone by calling (814) 863-0255, or in person on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Eisenhower Auditorium.

“Come from Away” tells the true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them in the week after the September 11 attacks as air travel was grounded. 

“Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night and gratitude grew into enduring friendships,” according to the Center for the Performing Arts.

Since its Broadway debut in 2017, the musical by Irene Sankoff and David Hein has garnered numerous honors, including the Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical (Christopher Ashley) as well as multiple Olivier, Outer Critics Circle, Helen Hayes and Drama Desk awards, among others.

Families who meet the eligibility requirement of a household income of $60,000 or less can complete the Arts Engagement Family Program application for reduced ticket prices to Center for the Performing Arts events.
