It’s officially summer, which means it’s time for WingFest at Tussey Mountain.

The tradition dating back more than 20 years gets started with round one from 5:30 to 10 p.m. on Thursday and continues every week through Aug. 10, when the winners from each round square off to determine this year’s Wing King. In addition to restaurants from around the area bringing their best wings, each week features live music from local acts and touring tributes.

If you don’t want wings, other food trucks will be on hand each week, and The Fun Centre will be open for go-karts, mini golf, batting cages

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for youth ages 7 to 16 and free for ages 6 and younger. Once inside, attendees use cash to purchase amphitheatre tickets for $1 each that can then be used to purchase wings, drinks and other items.

Round one on Thursday will feature Center Street Grille of Enola, Happy Valley Home Cookin’ caterers and Gio’s BBQ of Woodland, with flavors expected to include hot ‘n honey garlic, jalapeño maple, blueberry habañero, BBQ, maple bourbon, hot, PBJ, Cotton Candy Nightmares Dust, pepperoni ranch and Naranja.

Local favorites the Triple A Blues Band will take the stage at 6 p.m. followed by Best Friend’s Girl: a tribute to The Cars at 8 p.m.
