The Bellefonte Art Museum will host a Centre County Reads kick-off event celebrating Stacey Lee’s Under a Painted Sky from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Beginning at 1 p.m. and continuing every half hour, cowboy stories and poetry performances by Alan Scott and music by guitarist Doug Irwin will be featured.
Period-era food, including trail snacks and hard-tack shortbread, will be available.
Attendees can take a tour of the Underground Railroad exhibit, help piece together a large puzzle or join in on a continuous poker game just for fun.
Visitors also can use the museum’s dress-up trunk full of hats, chaps, cowboy vests and sheriff badges to create a period effect.
