A monthslong bridge rehabilitation project will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction on a section of U.S. Route 322 in College Township, according to PennDOT.

The right lanes on both the eastbound and westbound sides of the highway will be closed when work begins Monday on the bridges spanning Warner Boulevard and Spring Creek near the Oak Hall interchange.

That traffic pattern will be in place until repairs to the travel lanes are complete, at which point the contractor will switch to the left passing lanes.

The project is expected to be completed at the end of August, though work is weather-dependent.

George S Hann & Son, Inc. of Littleton is the contractor on the $2 million project, which PennDOT says will improve the ride quality of the bridges, extend their service life and move their overall condition ratings from fair to good.

The contract also included work completed last year on the University Drive bridge spanning East College Avenue in State College.
