The League of Women Voters of Centre County will hold two voter registration events on Tuesday as part of National Voter Registration Day.

National Voter Registration Day was created as a nonpartisan, nationwide effort to register eligible voters before Election Day in November.

Locally, the LWVCC will be conducting voter registration from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the corner of East Beaver Avenue and South Allen Street near Schlow Centre Region Library in State College and from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Nittany Mall.

‘With local elections happening on Tuesday November 5, 2019, every eligible voter should exercise their right to be heard at the ballot box,’ a LWVCC press release said. ‘National Voter Registration Day is the right place to start by getting registered or updating your information. C

‘County, municipal, judicial and school board elections have a direct impact on our daily lives. The League of Women Voters of Centre County hopes that National Voter Registration Day will increase voter participation in Centre County.’

More than 2.4 million people have registered to vote across the country on National Voter Registration Day since its inception in 2012.
