Centre County’s sixth Dunkin’ Donuts is open for business.

The new location at 2825 Benner Pike in Benner Township — between Bellefonte Lanes and Graystone Court — began serving customers for the first time on Tuesday morning. Jerome Mattey, regional manager, said business was booming on the first day.

‘Incredible. We’ve gotten great feedback,’ Mattey said. ‘A lot of our regulars from North Atherton and South Atherton Street have been in. They drive by here and have been watching construction, waiting to see if we were open.’

May Brands, which operates all of the Dunkin’ Donuts in Centre County and a number of other locations around Pennsylvania, began construction on the new 2,279 square foot store in September after initially submitting plans in 2017.

The new shop has a drive-through and Mattey said donuts are baked on-site.

‘We’ve sold a lot of donuts today,’ Mattey said. ‘We’re happy to be here and I think [customers] are happy we’re here.’

Owner Eric May said in September that the store is expected to employ 30 to 40 people.

Centre County has five other Dunkin’ Donuts locations, all in the State College area.

The Benner Pike Dunkin’ Donuts is open daily from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
