A Bellefonte area man is accused of walking naked onto a porch and masturbating in front of a woman.

Shaun T. McMurtrie, 46, of Spring Township, was arrested on Saturday night after officers responded to a report that a naked man “covered in lube” exposed himself on a Cole Street porch and then fled, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed by township police.

The woman told police she was sitting on the porch and turned around to see the man masturbating, police wrote. Her husband said the man ran down the street and entered another house.

Officers went to that address and found McMurtrie, who admitted that he walked naked and covered in oil to the other residence and entered the porch, according to the affidavit. Asked if he masturbated in front of the woman, McMurtrie replied “I believe so, yes,” police wrote.

McMurtrie is charged with misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure, open lewdness and loitering and prowling at night.

He was arraigned by District Judge Gregory Koehle and posted $25,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 2.

McMurtrie worked as director of education for the American Philatelic Society in Bellefonte. The society’s director said on Tuesday that McMurtrie is no longer employed there.
