Spring Township police on Wednesday arrested two people accused of selling methamphetamine out of their downtown Bellefonte apartment.

Police conducted multiple controlled buys of methamphetamine from Terry L. Miller, 59, and Cindy A. Young, 55, in August and September, according to an affidavit of probable cause. A detective wrote that Miller and Young had been selling “large quantities” of the drug from an apartment on the 100 block of North Allegheny Street.

Miller was initially charged with possession with intent to deliver in August after police conducted three controlled buys using a confidential informant. He agreed to cooperate with law enforcement if he was released, police wrote, and unsecured bail was set at $5,000.

He did not cooperate, police say, and a detective conducted additional purchases using an informant after the August incident.

Members of the Centre County Drug Task Force also conducted two controlled buys from Young in September out of the same apartment. Young allegedly sold an informant a 1.3-gram bag of methamphetamine and, after arranging a second deal over the phone, sold the informant another 1.4-gram bag.

Spring Township police, the drug task force and the state attorney general’s served arrest warrants on Miller and Young on Wednesday. Officers “seized $14,000 in currency and various controlled substances with a street value of $7,500,” according to a Facebook post by Spring Township police.

Miller was charged on Wednesday with a felony count of possession with intent to deliver and misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was charged in August with three counts of possession with intent, two counts of criminal use of a communication facility and three counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Young was charged with two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver, one felony count of criminal use of a communication facility, two misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and two misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both were arraigned on Wednesday by District Judge Kelley Gillette-Walker.

Miller was denied bail and Young was unable to post $25,000 bail. Both are detained at the Centre County Correctional Facility.

Preliminary hearings are scheduled for Nov. 15.
