Police this week arrested a New Jersey man on charges that he sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl in June 2022 at a Patton Township apartment.

Nadir J. Harris, 22, was arraigned Tuesday night on felony counts of sexual assault, statutory sexual assault and unlawful contact with a minor and a misdemeanor count of indecent assault.

The girl told Patton Township police in May 2023 that 11 months earlier she and several friends went to a Vairo Boulevard apartment where Harris and others resided. While there, she consumed eight shots of vodka provided to her by another man, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

When she began to feel ill, Harris directed her to his bedroom and she sat down on his bed to collect herself, police wrote.

Harris then pushed her on her back, removed her pants and sexually assaulted her, according to the affidavit.

The girl told police she was unable to speak, extremely intoxicated and did not consent to sexual activity.

Earlier in the night, the girl said, Harris asked for her age and social media information. Police confirmed that at the time of the incident the girl was 15 and Harris was 20.

Harris was arraigned before District Judge Casey McClain, who set straight bail at $250,000. He is detained at the Centre County Correctional Facility.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 5.
