State College police said on Friday they are looking for the owners of several items that have been recovered during an investigation of multiple burglaries.

Thousands of dollars worth of stolen property was recovered after police arrested John L. Weaver, 41, of State College, on felony trespass charges on Nov. 23, according to a news release.

A woman reported that at about 8:45 p.m. that night she returned to her South Burrowes Street apartment and found an unknown man inside, police wrote. He fled when confronted, and later that night a second woman reported she had video footage of the same man inside her West Nittany Avenue apartment.

Police identified and arrested Weaver, who since then has been detained at the Centre County Correctional Facility in lieu of $15,000 straight bail.

An investigation allegedly found in Weaver’s possession stolen property, including sports jerseys, speakers, gaming systems and other electronics. Many of the items have been identified as belonging to individuals who reported burglaries and thefts to State College police in 2021 and 2022, but several items remain unclaimed and police are looking to identify the owners of the remaining property.

Anyone with information about any burglaries in the downtown and adjacent neighborhoods is asked to contact the State College Police Department at (814) 234-7150, by email or by submitting an anonymous tip online.
