A winning Powerball ticket worth $100,000 (minus applicable withholding) was sold in State College, according to the Pennsylvania Lottery.
The ticket for the Dec. 7 drawing matched four of the five white balls, 1-31-43-55-57, and the red Powerball, 22. By selecting the Power Play option, the ticket holder doubled their winnings from $50,000.
Weis Markets, 560 Westerly Parkway, will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The winner has one year from the drawing date to claim the prize and have their ticket validated. Winning tickets purchased at a retailer should immediately be signed on the back, according to a Pennsylvania Lottery news release.
While the ticket sold in State College won big, a ticket purchased in New York for the Dec. 7 drawing won the jackpot worth an estimated annuity value of $256 million, or $123.5 million cash.
More than 34,800 other Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball tickets won prizes of various amounts in the drawing, according to the release.
