Program Recognizes Outstanding Young Women

Several young women from across the State College area were recently recognized for excellence.

And that recognition includes some sizable financial awards.

The Centre County’s Outstanding Young Woman Scholarship Program was held on Saturday, September 28 at Bellefonte Area High School.

The scholarship program is designed to honor outstanding High School Senior girls.

It encourages excellence while promoting self-esteem among young women.

The 2014 CCOYW Representative is Lyndy Adamonis from State College Area High School.

Awards in the amount of $3,550 were presented as follows: Lyndy Adamonis from State College Area High School (CCOYW, Presence & Presentation; Scholarship Fund); Jill Wess, State College(1st Runner up); Lauren Eberly, Penns Valley(Interview, Scholarship & Achievement); Kaylee Corl, PA Cyber (Creative & Performing Arts); Emily Kuskowski, State College (Physical Fitness, Keystone).

Other finalists were, Jessica Brown, Bellefonte; Haley Sasserman, Penns Valley; Kaycie Weiss, State College and Aleah Wolfe, Bellefonte.
