The State College Borough Water Authority will be flushing water mains over the next several months, beginning on Monday, March 20, according to an advisory.
The work “to ensure high quality water” will start in Boalsburg and continue for about seven months throughout the SCBWA service area, which includes State College Borough and parts of Benner, College, Ferguson, Harris, Halfmoon and Patton townships.
Customers may see a slight discoloration of their water as a result of the flushing. The discoloration is not harmful and residents can flush their faucets until the water runs clear according to the authority.
SCBWA maintains approximately 15,000 metered services and 270 miles of water mains.
