Actor Corey Feldman’s appearance at Sunday’s State College Spikes game is generating some national headlines.
At issue is not only what he did but also what he reportedly didn’t do.
Feldman, who’s apparently trying to make it as a rock star, performed with his band called the Angels.
The problem, according to the Spikes, was that Feldman was not expected to sing — and that the duties he was supposed to perform never happened.
The show featured Feldman singing while accompanied by two scantily clad women dressed as angels.

The Spikes issued an apology to fans through the team’s Facebook and Twitter feeds. it says in part, “we would like to apologize to all fans who may have been offended by its content.”

The apology was picked up by a number of media outlets including Yahoo! Sports.
On Tuesday, Spikes general manager Scott Walker clarified the apology saying, “We are not apologizing for the content of Feldman’s performance.” According to Walker, the team apologized because Feldman didn’t do what he was expected to do — meet with fans, appear on the field and sign autographs during the game.
In addition, the Spikes weren’t originally expecting Feldman’s appearance to include a musical performance. And Walker says Feldman didn’t sign autographs until after he finished singing, long after that night’s game had ended.
However, fans posting on the Spikes’ Facebook page were generally upbeat about Feldman’s conduct. One said that while the women in Feldman’s band were “scantily clad” she was pleased to meet Feldman. “He was polite, actually took time to talk to people and seemed very genuine. It was honestly an amazing experience,” she wrote.
Late Tuesday evening Feldman’s management company addressed the situation. In an email, Scott Carlson of SCT Entertainment says, “It is an unfortunate situation that Corey’s appearance at the State College Spikes baseball game turned into such a media frenzy.”
Carlson says the Spikes appearance was handled by an outside marketing company, adding, “I can assure you that Corey did everything that he was contracted and agreed to do.”
According to Carlson, the contract called for Feldman’s party to share a suite, but on arrival only a single room was available. Despite that, Carlson says Feldman made the best of things. “He threw out the first pitch and let management know that after his performance, he would stay as long as needed to sign autographs and take pictures with the fans,” he says.
Carlson also took issue with any suggestion that anyone was dressed inappropriately. “I would like to add that the Angels at this game wore an outfit that was designed specifically for all ages show as they knew it was a family event.”
Feldman is a well-known actor who hit fame in the eighties with appearances in a number of movies including “Gremlins,” “The Goonies,” “Stand By Me,” and “The Lost Boys.”
