Part of U.S. Route 322 between Centre and Clearfield counties was closed for more than two hours on Wednesday afternoon after a train derailment near Philipsburg.

The derailment happened after 3 p.m. in Chester Hill, and the train was blocking both Route 322 near the Philipsburg Plaza and Route 53 at the Philipsburg/Chester Hill line, according to Hope Fire Company. No injuries have been reported.

The road was closed between Philipsburg and Bigler until about 6 p.m. Route 53 also reopened around the same time, according to PennDOT

Eastbound traffic heading toward Philipsburg was detoured off Route 322 at Bigler and westbound traffic was detoured at Ninth Street in Philipsburg during the closure

Philipsburg Fire Department and fire police from several departments assisted RJ Corman Railroad Company and state police at the scene.
