Summer has officially arrived with the great weather this weekend, and there’s no better way to enjoy this beautiful Saturday than by taking in one of the many events that are happening around State College today.

For the baseball enthusiasts, head out to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park and watch your State College Spikes open their New York – Penn League season when they take on the Williamsport Crosscutters this evening at 7:05.

Family Fun

Amusement-park lovers need not travel far and wide to find a fun way to spend a day on rides and roller coasters. Head down Interstate 99 to the town of Tyrone, where DelGrosso’s Amusement Park can be found. DelGrosso’s has a variety of rides that will appeal to all ages. In addition to the rides, DelGrosso’s has go-karts and a mini-golf course. If you find yourself getting hot, scoot over to the water park for some cool, refreshing fun. Movies

Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of the ‘Toy Story’ gang are back as ‘Toy Story 3’ hits theaters tonight. The third and final installment of this trilogy centers on what the gang will do when its child owner, Andy, grows up and goes to college.

In ‘Jonah Hex,’ John Brolin plays a facially disfigured, rough-around-the-edges bounty hunter who goes about shooting up the wild, wild west until he finds and kills his oldest and most evil nemesis, Quentin Turnbull (John Malkovich).
