Penn State has added another piece to its 2026 recruiting class. Julian Peterson, a three-star cornerback from Atco, New Jersey, announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions on Saturday.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Peterson attends New Jersey’s Winslow Township High School, and is coached by former Penn State running back Bill Belton.

Peterson ranks as the No. 8 player in New Jersey and No. 420 nationally by 247Sports. He joins four-star safety Matt Sieg as the second defensive back to commit to the Nittany Lions this cycle.

Sieg and Peterson are two of nine total prospects who make up the program’s 2026 class, which 247Sports ranks No. 4 in college football. Oregon, Texas A&M and USC are the only three teams with higher-rated classes thus far.

Penn State’s 2026 class is led by four-star offensive tackle Kevin Brown, Pennsylvania’s top-ranked prospect, four-star Harrisburg running back Messiah Mickens and four-star quarterback Troy Huhn, a native of California.
