Penn State preceded its matchup against Ohio State with a win on the recruiting trail. Matt Sieg, a four-star safety from Fort Cherry High School in McDonald, announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions prior to kickoff on Saturday.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Sieg is listed by 247Sports as the No. 5-ranked player in Pennsylvania and No. 210 nationally.

Sieg becomes the seventh member of Penn State’s 2026 recruiting class, a group that already ranks among the nation’s best. He joins four-star offensive tackle Kevin Brown and running back Messiah Mickens as the third in-state prospect this recruiting cycle.
