Penn State has added a recruiting commitment prior to its White Out game against Washington. Layton von Brandt, a four-star offensive lineman from Middletown, Delaware, announced his pledge to the Nittany Lions prior to kickoff on Saturday.

Von Brandt joins four-star running back Kemom Spell as the second member of Penn State’s 2027 recruiting class.

He’s listed by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 42 overall player in the 2027 cycle, and the No. 4-ranked offensive tackle.

The 6-foot-6, 255-pound von Brandt has already visited the Nittany Lions four times over the past two years. His most recent visit came on Sept. 28, when Penn State defeated Illinois, 21-7.

He holds offers from Georgia, Indiana and West Virginia, among others.
