This year’s College Football Playoffs have yet to begin, but Penn State’s 2025 regular schedule season has already been released with the Big Ten announcing the conference slate on Wednesday.
The Nittany Lions will open the year with three nonconference games before beginning a Big Ten schedule that includes three opponents currently ranked within the top-10 nationally.
Here’s the full schedule:
Aug. 30: Nevada
Sept. 6: Florida International
Sept. 13: Villanova
Sept. 20: Bye
Sept. 27: Oregon
Oct. 4: at UCLA
Oct. 11: Northwestern
Oct. 18: at Iowa
Oct. 25: Bye
Nov. 1: at Ohio State
Nov. 8: Indiana
Nov. 15: at Michigan State
Nov. 22: Nebraska
Nov. 29: at Rutgers
The game against the Ducks, who currently rank No. 1 entering the playoffs, appears to be a deserving White Out contest. However, the broadcast network that drafts the game will dictate what time it kicks off.
A nuance in this schedule is that Penn State will not receive an idle week after its West Coast trip to UCLA, as it did following a trip to USC this season. Instead that bye will come directly after Villanova, giving the Nittany Lions an extra week to prepare for Oregon.
The second bye week will follow Penn State’s trip to Iowa, granting an extra week of preparation ahead of a road trip to Ohio State, which has defeated the Nittany Lions in each of the past eight seasons.
Penn State will not face the Buckeyes again in the regular season until 2028.
