A day after Penn State saw its season come to an end in the Orange Bowl, the Nittany Lions added another player out of the transfer portal for 2025.

Former Texas A&M offensive lineman TJ Shanahan announced on X that he is headed to State College after two years in College Station. He joins the Nittany Lions with three years of eligibility remaining.

A Florida native, Shanahan moved to Texas and was a four-star prospect out of Austin’s Westlake High School for the 2023 signing class, according to 247Sports. He was recruited by numerous programs, including Penn State, before signing with the Aggies.

After appearing in three games during his redshirt freshman season, the 6-foot-4, 315-pounder played in 10 games at guard and center in 2024, starting five.

Shanahan is Penn State’s fourth transfer commitment of the cycle, joining former USC wide receiver Kyron Hudson, former Troy receiver Devonte Ross and Shanahan’s former Texas A&M teammate defensive end Enai White.
