It remains unclear if Penn State running back Nick Singleton will be cleared to play against UCLA on Saturday. Singleton, who was absent from Wednesday’s practice viewing session, has been ruled as questionable ahead of kickoff. Singleton, the team’s leading rusher, most recently took 16 carries for 94 yards and a touchdown against Illinois last weekend.
Bruins’ starting quarterback Ethan Garbers is also questionable, but was warming up alongside backup Justyn Martin prior to kickoff.
While Singleton’s status is in question, Dominic DeLuca, a two-time team captain and starting linebacker, has been cleared to play after missing last week’s action with an injury. He was an active participant at practice this week, but wore a brace on his right hand.
Nittany Lions’ starting right guard Sal Wormley, who exited with an injury in the first quarter against the Fighting Illini, has also been cleared to play. So has his fellow guard, JB Nelson, who was injured after replacing Wormley last weekend.
Penn State’s one notable and new inactive is wide receiver Kaden Saunders, the team’s primary punt returner.
