The kickoff time and broadcast designation for No. 8 Penn State’s next matchup has been announced. After a bye week, the Nittany Lions will return to action at Beaver Stadium against Kent State on Sept. 21 at 3:30 p.m. EDT, a contest set to broadcast on Big Ten network.
The matchup with Golden Flashes will mark Penn State’s first of three games this season in a time slot that isn’t noon.
James Franklin’s program narrowly escaped with a 34-27 victory against Bowling Green this past weekend, a game that saw an ugly performance on the defensive side of the ball.
The Nittany Lions will look to win in a more dominant fashion against Kent State, which has lost both of its first two games, the most recent being a 23-17 defeat to Saint Francis (PA).
Other ranked conference matchups the weekend of Sept. 20-21 include Illinois at No. 23 Nebraska at 8 p.m. EDT on Friday, Marshall (coached by former Nittany Lions’ assistant Charles Huff) at No. 3 Ohio State in Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff slate on Saturday, No. 11 USC at No. 17 Michigan, UCLA at No. 16 LSU and Michigan State at No. 24 Boston College (coached by ex-Penn State coach Bill O’Brien).
