Penn State football continued to fill out the early stages of its 2025 recruiting class following the verbal commitment of four-star cornerback Daryus Dixson. Dixson announced his commitment on social media earlier on Monday. He marks the first verbal commitment for Penn State during the current opening recruiting period this summer.

The 6-foot, 180-pound Dixson attends Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California, where he is rated the No. 11 prospect in the state and the 10th-best cornerback in the nation, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. He is also rated the No. 90 overall player in the country.

According to recruiting services, Dixson took an official visited to Penn State this past weekend and a recent official visit to Washington. He had a future official visit with Tennessee scheduled as well according to 247 Sports.

Dixson is the 14th verbal commitment of Penn State’s 2025 class and the fourth four-star prospect of Penn State’s current haul, which is rated the 11th overall class so far fairly early in the cycle. Dixson joins Xxavier Thomas as the only two corners in the class so far.
