Penn State is adding more talent at the wideout position following the verbal commitment of four-star wide receiver Tyseer Denmark on Wednesday. Denmark, who flipped to the Nittany Lions from a previous commitment to Oregon, became the 18th player in the program’s recruiting Class of 2024.
The Philadelphia native is ranked as the No. 33 wide receiver in the nation and the third-best player in his home state, per 247Sports’ composite rankings. With Denmark’s commitment, Penn State has snagged the top three players in Pennsylvania, after Quinton Martin and Cooper Cousins previously committed to the program.
At 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, Denmark joins a recruiting group near the top of its class. Before Denmark’s commitment, Penn State’s class was ranked No. 7 in the nation by 247Sports. The wide receiver becomes the 11th four-star to commit to the group, but just the first wide receiver.
According to MaxPreps, Denmark registered 35 catches for 665 yards and seven touchdowns across six games in his junior year of football for Roman Catholic. He also rotated positions occasionally, throwing one pass for 31 yards and rushing seven times for 20 yards.
Denmark’s commitment comes after he made a surprise visit to Penn State on June 16 and decommitted from Oregon on June 18.
