Penn State added another four-star prospect to its budding 2025 class following the verbal commitment of linebacker Dayshaun Burnett who announced his college decision on Wednesday afternoon. He marks the 10th commitment for Penn State in the 2025 cycle and the third linebacker alongside DJ McClary and fellow western Pennsylvania four-star prospect Alex Tatsch, the latter verbally committing just three days ago.
Burnett, from Imani Christian Academy in Pittsburgh, is rated as the 13th-best player in the Keystone State and the No. 39 linebacker in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Checking in at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, Burnett is the fourth player in the state’s top 15 prospects for 2025 to verbally commit to Penn State, joining Tatsch, tight end Brady O’Hara and running back Tiqwai Hayes. Tatsch is ranked the No. 9 prospect in the state while O’Hara and Hayes come in at seven and 13 respectively.
Penn State’s recruiting class is still rated the sixth-best in the nation according to the 247 Network, with Oklahoma, Ohio State, Clemson, LSU and Notre Dame rounding out the top 5 still very early in the process. Burnett chose Penn State over programs such as Rutgers, West Virginia and others.
