Penn State Men’s Hockey Announces Non-Conference Slate

Penn State men’s hockey released its 10-game non-conference schedule for the 2023-24 season this week as the Nittany Lions sit just 58 days for their season opener.

The season will start off with three-straight road games, dropping the puck in Long Island against LIU on Oct. 7. This marks the second time in three seasons that Penn State has opened against the Sharks but the program’s first trip to Long Island for clash against LIU. The Nittany Lions will head on the road the following weekend yet again for single games against Clarkson and St. Lawrence on Oct.13 and Oct. 14, respectively.

Penn State’s home schedule will open with a bit of fanfare on Oct. 20 and 21 against AIC, when the Nittany Lions raise another NCAA Tournament appearance banner in the Pegula Ice Arena rafters, the third in the program’s history. The Nittany Lions fell in overtime to Michigan in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

October will then close out with a meeting in State College against Alaska Anchorage. Lindenwood will travel to State College for a Nov. 24 and 25 series as one of the newest programs in college hockey. Penn State finishes its non-conference slate to open the second semester with a Jan. 6 meeting against Army West Point. Army was Penn State’s first foe in Pegula Ice Arena.
