Penn State wrestling’s 2025 recruiting class just got stronger.

Bethlehem native and national top-20 prospect Nate Desmond announced his commitment to Cael Sanderson and the Nittany Lions Wednesday night.

“Since I was a little kid, I set goals,” Desmond wrote on Instagram Wednesday. “Some were unable to envision and understand, but I believe with dedication and enjoyment for the journey, anything is possible.”

The 120-pound lightweight is ranked as the No. 18-ranked recruit in the Class of 2025, according to FloWrestling. Desmond won two state championships at Bethlehem Catholic and has since transferred to Wyoming Seminary in Kingston for his junior year.

During the 2022-23 season, Desmond went 41-1 en route to his state championship at 114 pounds. So far this season, Desmond is 12-1, according to PA Wrestling. His high school career record is 92-4, which includes two losses during his freshman season at 106 pounds.

Desmond will join a 2025 recruiting class that also includes PJ DukeDalton Perry, and Asher Cunningham.
