Movin’ On Festival to Cause Road Closures, Traffic Delays

Penn State’s end-of-year music festival Movin’ On is set for Friday and will result in some road closures and traffic delays, according to a university news release.

The annual event will be held at the Park Avenue IM Fields, located along North University Drive between Park Avenue and Services Road.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m. and continuing until pedestrians have finished crossing after the event ends, sections of Park Avenue and University Drive will be closed to vehicle traffic. Park Avenue will be closed between Bigler Road and University Drive, and University Drive will be closed between Park Avenue and Services Road.

Services Road between Big Hollow Road and University Drive closed on Thursday morning and will remain closed until 8 a.m. on Saturday. Access to the Orange parking area near Procurement Services will be available only from the entrance on Big Hollow Road and the two ADA parking spaces in this lot will be closed until 8 a.m. Saturday

With heavy traffic expected in these areas on Friday, drivers are urged to use caution and to allow extra time to reach their destinations. Campus Shuttle via Beaver Avenue will end service at 5 p.m. Friday, and the Campus Shuttle via College Avenue will end service at 5:30 p.m.

For those attending Movin’ On parking will only be available at

  • The Stadium West lot for a $10 fee or with a valid Penn State parking permit, and
  • The East Deck for $1 per hour ($16 daily maximum).University Park parking permits also valid after 4 p.m. Friday.

Movin’ On attendees are urged to cross Park Avenue using the crosswalks at the University Drive and Bigler Road intersections.

The festival is for ages 18 and older and a university or government-issued ID is required for entry. Admission is free.
