Relay For Life at Penn State brought its annual fundraiser back in person this weekend for the first time since 2019. In the process, the organization helped raise $33,446.76 total to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Participants walked for eight hours at Penn State’s Multi-Sport Facility to symbolize the never-resting nature of both cancer and its survivors. The organization also lit luminaries to honor those who’ve passed from cancer and hosted activities like dancing, games, live music and raffles to round things out.

To date, Relay For Life at Penn State has raised more than $1 million through all of its relay events combined. Last year’s entirely virtual fundraiser brought in more than $21,000.

Although this year’s walk-a-thon is over, Relay For Life at Penn State is always working to raise money for cancer research and the American Cancer Society. Anyone can get involved with Relay For Life at Penn State through its website.
