With Joe Paterno set to pack his bags and leave Penn State and this Jerry Sandusky scandal in the dust at the end of the season, Mike McQueary has to be the next to go.
McQueary has every bit as much involvement as Joe Pa and the athletic director and school administrators who were instrumental in keeping what he saw inside the university walls and out of the hands of local law enforcement.
McQueary also had a chance to put a stop to Sandusky at the moment he saw him committing what he described as anal intercourse with a boy approximately 10 years of age.
The fact that he didn’t shows he is a weak, scared, cowardly and inhumane person.
He would be ignorant to even show his face anymore around his hometown of State College.
The last thing Penn State needs is people who were involved in the Sandusky scandal to be lingering around, especially on the field on Saturdays.
It is crazy enough that Joe Paterno is going to be out coaching his team for the next three games and a bowl, but as the face of the program for nearly 46-years, he is afforded that right because he isn’t being charged and there are no clear replacements waiting in the wings.
Paterno will feign ignorance and say how he feels bad for the children and that he had no idea, but McQueary cannot even do that.
The Grand Jury Report all but named McQueary and sources soon confirmed it was he. Now, he cannot hide and escape from the shame stemming from the fact that he saw Sandusky raping a young man.
He needs to be fired immediately or asked to resign.
However the Nittany Lions administration decides to get rid of him, they need to do it this week before he further damages their image.
