Beaver Stadium’s overnight RV lot will not be open to permit holders on Thursday evening after a severe thunderstorm caused damage and knocked out power on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Penn State Athletic Department.
All RVs arriving Thursday are being directed to Grange Park in Centre Hall “with the hope of a potential Friday afternoon/evening move-in [at the ORV lot], if we are able to restore power,” an athletic department email said.
Those arriving on Thursday only need to show their ORV permits at Grange Park and will not be charged. ORV permit holders with questions should email [email protected].
The sold-out ORV lot typically opens at 6 p.m. on Thursday’s ahead of Penn State football home games.
At about 2 p.m. on Tuesday, a storm took down trees, utility poles and power lines and overturned portable toilets in the area of Orchard Road and the ORV lot north of Park Avenue .
The storm caused more than 3,000 power outages in Centre County on Wednesday afternoon, along with downed trees and power lines around the area.
No. 10 Penn State hosts No. 22 Auburn at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday in the White Out game, which will air on ABC.
