A federal grand jury on Wednesday indicted a Bellefonte man on drug trafficking and firearms charges.
Alan Dorsey, 39, is accused of distributing methamphetamine on June 3, 2021 and of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and a mixture of fentanyl and tramadol on Sept. 11, 2021 in Centre County.
He is also charged with possessing a 9mm handgun in furtherance of drug trafficking and illegally possessing 21 rounds of ammunition, having been previously convicted of punishable by a prison term of a year or more, according to the indictment filed in U.S. Middle District Court of Pennsylvania.
Arraignment is scheduled for March 17 at the U.S. Courthouse in Williamsport.
Pennsylvania State Police and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated the case, according to U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania John Gurganus.
It is being prosecuted as part of the joint federal, state and local Project Safe Neighborhoods Program, the centerpiece of the Department of Justice’s violent crime reduction efforts, and the Heroin Initiative, which targets heroin traffickers operating in the Middle District of Pennsylvania and is part of a coordinated effort among federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, Gurganus said.
