Centre County reported 40 new COVID-19 cases on Friday to bring its total to 12,114, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Pennsylvania added 3,987 cases, bringing the statewide total to 888,256.
The county also had 51 additional negative test results, increasing its total to 58,489. Across Pennsylvania there were 8,550 new negatives for a total of 3,744,326.
DOH reported no new deaths attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, keeping the county’s total at 203.
With 99 new COVID-19 deaths reported on Friday, Pennsylvania’s total is now 22,959.
Mount Nittany Medical Center is currently treating 22 COVID-19 inpatients between the ages of 49 and 88, unchanged from Thursday.
Since Feb. 1, 50 COVID positive patients have been admitted to the medical center, with an average census of 22 COVID positive inpatients per day.
“While hospitalizations remain high, the past month has seen COVID inpatient numbers trending lower,” Mount Nittany Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Nirmal Joshi said in a statement.
According to the health department’s hospital preparedness dashboard, which includes Mount Nittany Medical Center and rehabilitation hospitals, 24 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in Centre County, with none in intensive care or on ventilators.
Statewide, a decline in COVID-19 hospitalizations that began in late December continues. Across Pennsylvania, 2,548 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, including 496 in intensive care and 286 on ventilators.
Nursing and personal care homes in Centre County reported one new COVID-19 case among residents and one among employees. A total of 16 long-term care facilities in the county have had a combined 676 resident cases, 146 employee cases and 156 resident deaths.
An estimated 87% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, per a health department calculation.
A total of 18,511 people in Centre County have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, including 3,358 who are fully covered with both required doses, according to health department data.
Among Pennsylvania’s total cases, 768,085 are confirmed and 120,171 are probable. In Centre County, 11,220 are confirmed and 894 are probable.
