Centre County reported 87 new COVID-19 cases over the past two days — 74 on Sunday and 13 on Monday — to bring its total to 12,642, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Pennsylvania added 3,427 — 1,906 on Sunday and 1,521 on Monday — bringing its total to 915,018.
The county also had 168 additional negative test results, increasing its total to 60,444. Across Pennsylvania there were 11,381 new negatives for a total of 3,827,159.
DOH reported one new death attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, bringing the county’s total at 208.
With 44 new COVID-19 deaths reported statewide — 27 on Sunday and 17 on Monday — Pennsylvania’s total is now 23,614.
Mount Nittany Medical Center is currently treating 17 COVID-19 inpatients, an increase of three since Friday. The patients range in age from 19 to 84, according to a hospital spokesperson.
Across Pennsylvania, hospitalizations continue to decline. As of Monday morning, 1,963 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, including 418 in intensive care and 240 on ventilators.
Nursing and personal care homes in Centre County reported one new COVID-19 case among residents. A total of 18 long-term care facilities in the county have had a combined 695 resident cases, 146 employee cases and 157 resident deaths.
An estimated 89% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, per a health department calculation.
A total of 22,017 people in Centre County have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, including 5,472 who are fully covered with both required doses, according to health department data.
Among Pennsylvania’s total cases, 788,714 are confirmed and 126,304 are probable. In Centre County, 11,668 are confirmed and 974 are probable.
