Bellefonte XC has strong showing versus BEA, Bellwood-Antis

BELLEFONTE — Bellefonte competed against Bald Eagle and Bellwood-Antis at home on a beautiful evening at Governors Park on Wednesday, Sept. 4.

Bellefonte High School girls had a very good day on the home course. Both Addison Fry and Natalie Jolley broke the course record time with their races. Fry, who won the race, is now the new course record holder with her winning time of 21:41. Jolley was right behind with her second-place finish with a time of 21:55. Emma Burger placed seventh in the race with a time of 25:05 and teammate Anna Tyson came in 11th with a time of 26:22. Alexis Fravel 26:51 was 12th and Ruthann Smoyer 29:18 placed 17th. 

The girls team just came up short by 1 point against Bellwood-Antis, but took home a win over Bald Eagle. 

Bellefonte boys start the season 2-0 in their race. Kaiden Williams scored his first varsity race win today with a time of 19:04. Freshman Jonathan Gasper ran to a second-place finish with a time of 19:08. Teammates Maverick Muchmore,19:22,  and Elijah Davis, 20:39, placed fourth and fifth in the race. Kaiden Musser placed 21st, helping complete the wins over Bald Eagle and Bellwood-Antis. 

On the Bellefonte Junior High side, Gunther Kull won the 2-mile boys race with a time of 13:33. Bowen Williams placed second in 14:12 and Braeden Strohm third in 15:32. Ethan Karmelita placed fourth, Hudson Manning fifth, Justin Roberts seventh and Hyrum Jones eighth. For the girls, Alissa Kyte-Yech won the girls race with a time of 17:42. Emily Moretz came in second, Haddie Lutz third, Megan Showers fourth and Molly Showers fifth.
