CATA announces two new trial routes for summer 2025

STATE COLLEGE — The Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA) announced it is introducing two new trial routes as part of its reduced summer service schedule, running from Monday, May 12, to Sunday, Aug. 17.

UP — UNIVERSITY PARKWAY ROUTE
Operating Monday through Saturday every 32 minutes, this counterclockwise circulator connects riders to key destinations including Downtown State College, Westerly Parkway Plaza, the Retreat, the Social Security Office, Easterly Parkway Elementary and the Penn State campus.

HV — HAPPY VALLEY ROUTE
This route runs all day on Sundays and from 10 p.m. to midnight Monday through Saturday, complementing the NV route during these times. The HV route services six stops along Atherton Street and Burrowes Road, traveling counterclockwise from Blue Course Drive. Riders can catch direct service between Walmart, Trader Joe’s, Colonnade Boulevard, Martin Street and The Heights.
