UNIVERSITY PARK — Tickets for 2024-25 Center for the Performing Arts season went on sale Wednesday, Aug. 7, following an announcement from the CPA about its upcoming season on Tuesday, July 30.
The upcoming season will feature nationally touring Broadway productions, including “The Tina Turner Musical,” “Dear Evan Hansen” and “The Addams Family”; singers and vocal groups; dance programs; and more.
“The activity in the building throughout the next year will be electric,” Laura Sullivan, marketing and communications director at the CPA, shared in a statement. “We will honor the legacy as we continue to build our new vision for the future.”
The fall 2024 lineup includes:
• Saturday, Sept. 14, from 2 to 8 p.m. — Move Mix Festival featuring BJ The Chicago Kid
• Thursday, Sept. 26, at 7:30 p.m. — “Sing Joyfully” by the Chanticleer choral ensemble
• Sunday, Oct. 6, at 7:30 p.m. — “The Tina Turner Musical”
• Thursday, Oct. 10, at 6 p.m. — “Blippi: Join the Band Tour”
• Thursday, Oct. 17, at 7:30 p.m. — Ailey II dance company
• Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 7:30 p.m. — “From Naples to London” by Le Consort
• Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 7:30 p.m. — Eddie Palmieri Salsa Orchestra
• Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 7:30 p.m. — “Slam!” by Ex Machina/Robert Lepage and Cirque Flip Fabrique
• Thursday, Nov. 7, at 7:30 p.m. — Sam Barber
• Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m. — “The Migration: Reflections on Jacob Lawrence” by Step Afrika!
• Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m. — “A Joyful Holiday” by Samara Joy, featuring the McLendon Family
• Sunday, Dec. 8, at 4 p.m. — “Mosaic” by the Penn State School of Music
The CPA also announced the spring 2025 schedule, which includes:

• Friday, Jan. 24, at 4 p.m. — “A Choral Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.” by Penn State and regional high schools
• Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 7:30 p.m. — Alto saxophone artist Lakecia Benjamin
• Saturday, March 22, at 7:30 — “Duck Pond”
• Thursday, March 27, at 7:30 p.m. — “Dear Evan Hansen” the musical
• Tuesday, April 1, and Wednesday, April 2, at 7 p.m. — “Wednesday” the musical
• Wednesday, April 9, at 7:30 p.m. — “Before and After Nature” by David Lang

In addition to announcing the upcoming season, the CPA also shared that narrated solo walking tour app 200 Acres was extended through June 2025. The creative partnership between the CPA and theater artist Marike Splint takes listeners around the Penn State University area, providing information on the history of the university’s original land.
