The Centre County United Way executive director will step down from her position on Friday, June 21.
Paula Williams, who has worked as the executive director for CCUW since February 2023, will take her executive director title to Centre Volunteers in Medicine, where she is set to begin on Monday, July 15.
“The past year has been an amazing experience for me, and I am looking forward to continuing my relationship with CCUW as a partner agency executive director,” Williams stated in a press release announcing her resignation. “I have been able to see first-hand how important United Way is to our community, and I value the work being done by the staff and the support of donors.”
CVIM is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing medical, dental and other health-related services to uninsured and underinsured individuals and families in Centre County. CVIM operates with the mission of improving access to health care for vulnerable populations who might otherwise lack the resources to obtain necessary care.
Williams will fill the vacancy that occurred in December 2023 when Cheryl White retired as executive director after 13 years with CVIM.
“We wish Paula success in her new role and thank her for her leadership over the past 15 months. We look forward to continuing to work with her as she takes on the leadership of a partner agency,” shared Tama Carey, CCUW board chair, in a press release. “CCUW has a dedicated team of staff, board, partner agencies and volunteers who remain focused on our mission of providing access to health, education and financial security to everyone in Centre County.”
Further information about the next phase of leadership at CCUW will be announced by the executive team as it becomes available, according to the release.
